The short answers
How many MCSTs does a managing agent in Singapore typically run?
The median Singapore managing agent runs 3 active strata buildings. The mean is 12.1, because the market is top-heavy rather than evenly spread: the largest firm runs 185, 12 firms run 50 or more, and half of all active strata buildings are run by just 18 firms. At the other end, 92 firms run a single building.
How many managing agents are there in Singapore?
243 firms currently hold at least one active MCST appointment, between them managing 2,951 active strata buildings, based on the public register as at 28 September 2026.
How do I find out who the managing agent is for my MCST?
BCA's MCST enquiry service lists the agent appointed to each management corporation, and your council or front desk will know. What neither tells you is how many other buildings that agent runs, which is what this page adds.
Is it a bad sign if my managing agent runs a lot of buildings?
Not on its own. A larger firm usually has a deeper bench, specialist staff and better cover when someone is on leave. What a large book does mean is that your council is one of many, so it is worth knowing where you sit and asking who specifically is accountable for your building. A very small book can mean closer attention, but thinner cover.
Who is responsible for a strata building's statutory compliance in Singapore?
The duty sits with the management corporation, not with the managing agent it appoints. The agent does the work, but the fire certificate renewal, the periodic structural inspection cycle under the Building Control Act and the record of what was done remain the MCST's responsibility.
